A Surfer’s Guide To SUPER73 Electric Bikes

SUPER73 electric bikes stand out from the crowd. Just look at them… they look amazing! Not only do they look amazing, but they’re also fully loaded with tech and features to make sure you get maximum performance and fun every time you ride one.

As surfers, we look at these bikes as a great way to get to inaccessible spots, or spots involving a really long walk! Fit a surfboard rack and you’re going to be able to get away from the crowds… for now anyway! Think about those lines of traffic headed to the beach in the summer and then imagine yourself scooting past them on your SUPER73 e-bike… we first saw these e-bikes at Trestles in California, there were loads of them. The choice of transport for heaps of surfers there for sure.

The SUPER73 e-bike range has a few different models, all of which offer something a little different. Some are more suited to off road, some more suited to street riding and then there are the cross-terrain bikes that can do a bit of everything. The range runs from the ZX model right through to the R Adventure line. Something for everyone there, whether you want to strap on a surfboard rack or not!

As an overview, these e-bikes have a range of anything from 40-150KMs depending on how much pedalling you do. They charge in a few hours and are so comfortable to ride even over longer distances. They charge in 4-7 hours depending on the model and are then ready to roll. We love the variety of design in this blinding e-bike range, we really don’t think there is anything else out there to compare.

Here’s an overview of the range, starting with the lowest price point:

ZX – The Comfortable Commuter

Simple and stylish design, not as big of a battery or range as some of the other models and de-spec’d a little. Disk, not hydraulic brakes for instance. Mainly a road bashing option, the road tyres and upright seating position make this a great everyday commuter or cruiser.

Z Adventure – The Retro Racer

A lot of fun for not too high a price tag. Real off road potential as well as an urban cruiser, a very adaptable bit of kit. A higher spec than the ZX, with off road capability.

S2 – The Iconic Urban Cruiser

The all round urban cruiser, better range than the ZX or Z Adventure and just looks so good. Great air suspension forks and alloy frame make it so usable on a daily basis.   

S Adventure Series – The Cross Terrain Conqueror

Usable on the streets of course but loves trails and off roading, the rougher the better.

R Brooklyn – The Performance Street Racer

This one is fully loaded, it showcases all of SUPER73’s iconic features; the powerful R-series drive system, along with two-piston hydraulic brakes and dual suspension. Boasting a new LED headlight and our new MAXXIS SuperSucker tires, the R Brooklyn is equipped for peak city and street riding. Boom!

R Adventure – The Rugged Runner

This is the Adventure Series flagship model it has everything you could possibly want from SUPER73’s Performance Adventurer. It has full suspension, great weight distribution, and loads of wiggle room on the seat, all these factors combine to make this the best ride in the SUPER73 range.

The SUPER73 App

These excellent e bikes like most things nowadays are run with an APP, you can play around with the bike’s settings to alter the ride and performance… its dead easy, even we can work it! The App allows you to use Navigation, records your rides etc, all the usual stuff but actually very handy.

 SUPER73 X Surfing

We got into SUPER73 for two reasons, we like the look and the styling but more importantly they make the perfect surfing transport. The FCS Scooter rack is easy to fit and carries your board safely and securely.

Where we live just like a lot of other coastal locations gets totally overrun in the summer months and getting to the beach can be a massive mission. It’s not unusual to have up to two hours of traffic queues at that time of year…an e bike solves the problem and because you need to get over some rough terrain the SUPER73 e bikes totally fit the bill. Why don’t we walk or take a normal bike you might ask. Well we could but more time getting there means less waves in your lunch break…
