Airwaves: A Conversation With Surfers

Welcome one and all to AIRWAVES - Boardshop’s latest series where we will be sitting down in conversation with the surfers, shapers and influential icons of the sport along with big industry players.

Episode one of Airwaves drops with Boardshop’s very own surf nerd Matt talking to one of the best looking and high performing surfers this country has produced in years: Alan Stokes. Along with Alan, joining the conversation is the legendary and hugely underrated shaper Steve Darch.

Steve and Alan break down all the intricacies that go into designing and refining a board before and after release. How a shaper and team riders’ relationship is vital, taking on feedback and constructive criticism to work on a model that when it hits the shelves is ready to be under the feet of the public.

The chat also talks about some of the best and worse sessions Alan has had surfing, how Steve works on EPS and PU differently and some general surf chat too!
