The Bic 7’ 9” surfboard, also known as the Natural Surf surfboard was and probably still is the world’s best selling surfboard.

Bic  sport surfboards evolved form Bic’s early watersports windsurfing product, they same bullet proof construction that was used to build windsurf boards was refined, named DuraTec and utilised in surfboard production. The Natural Surf surfboard model was the first mass produced surfboard, a surfboard from a production line that actually surfed pretty well, was stable and yet allowed progression and most importantly was really affordable. The Dura-Tec construction is a moulded polythene outer filled with high density polyurethane foam, its tough and lightweight – perfect for a surfboard.

Beginners surfboards, or surfboards to learn to surf on are readily available but it’s really important to match your weight with the right size board. The Bic Natural Surf surfboard at 7’ 9” is suited to adult surfers who weigh from 10 stone up to 14 stone, and will paddle and catch waves with ease. Remember, as a beginner the most important thing about the surfboard you select is that you catch as many waves as possible. Progression in surfing is about small steps and gentle progression, getting the right board is the most important factor in getting you surfing and smiling!
