Channel Islands Average Joe Surfboard Review

Boardshop.co.uk takes a look at the Channel Islands Average Joe Surfboard. As the name implies this is the board for us normal people (unless your name is Kelly Slater).

Ian here at boardshop.co.uk grabbed one as soon as they came in and this is what he had to say about it.

So, the Channel Islands Average Joe surfboard, what's it all about? Well it depends on the ability of the person surfing it. At the lower end it's all about catching as many waves as possible and staying up for as long as possible! On this front 2 massive ticks. It paddles so easily into waves you could easily think you're on a mini mal! It takes off smoothly and is very stable as you get your feet into the right position, weight the rail up a little and your off down the line, easy as that. It is 100% guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and importantly get you the time on the wave to improve your surfing. Surfing it in head high Rocky Point in Fuerteventura it was surprising how much speed you could generate with this much volume, surf it more off the tail and it really does turn well. It's not the easiest board to sit in the pocket but it's a lot of fun to surf in decent waves too. In waves any bigger than this it starts to feel a bit sketchy for the average surfer, but at this point you're going to jump onto another board anyway. 90% of surfers could easily have this board to cater for most of the waves they're realistically ever going to surf, and it really does get the most out of our average to poor conditions.Size wise, at 12 stone duck diving a 5'9 in decent surf was fine, and it's just the right length and volume to get the job done.
