Lost Domesticated Series

Boardshop.co.uk takes a look at the Lost Domesticated Series.

Double Agent

The Lost Domesticated series of surfboards is on fire. There is a board for everyone, and realistically for 90% of the waves most of us are going to be surfing. There are 4 surfboards in the Lost Domesticated range, the Lost Couch Potato, the Lost RV, the Lost Lazy Boy (also called the LazyToy to confuse matters!) and the Lost V2 Shortboard. These boards fit together to cover pretty much all your options. These boards are all about maximising your limited surf time, generous volumes keep your wave count up and simple design tweaks mean you're not sacrificing all performance and fun.

We're not going to re hash all the other online reviews, this is our actual feed back having surfed these boards. Justin (graphics surfs a Couch Potato), Clive and Roger (office bunnys surf LayZboys), James (graphics surfs the RV) and Hannah (Warehouse supremo surfs the V2 SB dom).

LOST LAZY BOY

Surfing south coast waves, a bit of Portugal and recently Sri Lanka I wanted one board for a wide range of conditions that at my advanced years i could paddle comfortably and yet not lose all ability to push the board, sit in the pocket and enjoy my surfing in better waves. Box ticked. I've borrowed the CP from Justin and its a great groveller but its the LB for me. At home on the South Coast you can surf the board in the middle for cruising in slacker waves bit in head high Sri Lanka shifting back really upped the performance, i'd love to be on a shortboard tearing it up but reality bites! - Clive

LOST COUCH POTATO

The Couch P catches everything! I'm 24 and just starting my surfing career mainly surfing crappy onshore stuff with the odd trip to the West country and France. I like the CP because it catches waves without a level of paddling that is completely exhausting like a couple of other boards i've tried. Once up and riding its great to surf, you can have your feet pretty much anywhere and it doesn't tip you off. I'm just starting to try and turn the board and i'm finding that surfing it a little further back really helps start the turns off. When its tiny everyone asks for a quick go and disappears for ages, they always come back smiling! - Justin

LOST V2 SHORTBOARD

I've been running a surf camp in Costa Rica for the last few years, and have been surfing a shortboard. I wanted to keep up with this, but a get a board that works here on better days. I tried the Fred Rubble, and a Pukas board but neither of them caught waves like the V2. In Cornwall it didn't have the top-end performance of the boards I used to surf, but it caught everything. I can still get this board through quite tight turns, it's got tons of speed down-the-line and sits in the pocket with a bit of effort. It's a really good practical shortboard for here, and I'll be taking it to Portugal in a couple of weeks as my one board quiver. - Hannah

LOST RV

I like Clive's LayZboy but i want a board that feels and looks a bit more like a shortboard. I'm surfing the same weakish surf as the other boys here at work but i like the way the RV turns a little snappier than the LB. Me and Clive catch a similar number of waves (i'm muuuuch younger than him!) but i like to try a few more things than him. The RV seems to get the waves but allow a bit more performance than the LB and its still goes good in head high waves. It certainly isn't as forgiving as the LB or CP but i like it! - James
