March Madness (Battle of the Boards)

What is Boardshop’s March Madness?

UPDATE: Congratulations to The Lovemachine FM on winning March Madness 2024! You can order your very own custom FM HERE and we have more stock arriving very soon!

You know that film where each year, they randomly select children to drop into an arena and fight to the death? Imagine that, but with more surfboards and less children – that’s March Madness.

Handpicked with care, 32 of our top boards step into the arena. Over the next 31 days, they'll clash head-to-head, battling for glory. Who will emerge as the crowd favourite for March Madness '24? The decision rests with you.

How it works (and how YOU can get involved):

1. First rule of March Madness… you do not talk about March Madness.

2. Secondly, every day in March, 2 boards will go head-to-head in a battle to progress to the next round.

3. To have your say on who wins, follow @Boardshopcouk on Instagram and check our story daily to cast your votes.

Following the thrilling first 16 matchups, the victorious boards will advance to ROUND 2, battling their way to the QUARTERFINALS, then onto the SEMIFINALS, culminating in the epic March Madness FINALE on March 31st, where our champion surfboard will be officially crowned.

The Boardshop Bets

Few, if any, in the UK (and perhaps beyond) engage in more surfboard conversations than this crew. With an average of 30 daily chats centered around surfboards, they emerge as the industry's foremost authorities on what's riding the crest of popularity. These are the boards they're backing with their bucks.

Ian’s Predictions

He's gone for the Love Machine FM. He doesnt care what gets in it's way. His new-found love for Lovelace's mid length beast seems has him set on the FM being crowned king (Don't tell his Revo).

Roger’s Predictions

Coming soon

Charlie’s Predictions

Our latest addition to the Boardshop squad isn't swayed by sentiment but opts for strategy, even predicting his beloved Form Wave King will be defeated by the Firewire Singleton. Although he’s predicting most of the Firewire’s will progress to the second round, he thinks it will ultimately be a Merrick Family Feud in the final, with 2 Channel Islands boards… the CI Mid and the G Skate, with the Mid coming out on top.
