We all love a good used surfboard. Much cheaper than a new one generally, so less of a financial risk! Boardshop operates a globally unique surfboard part exchange programme to bring a great range of second-hand surfboards to you every week.

Trading in a surfboard at Boardshop is easy, we currently do anything from 10 to 30 trades-ins per week, so we always have a great selection of used boards.

We sell these boards via a weekly email that’s goes out every Wednesday at 1.30pm on the dot. It creates a fair amount of hysteria amongst everyone out there looking for a good used surfboard, so forgive us if all 4 phonelines are engaged when you try to call and snap up a board.

You have to be quick because the boards sell fast.

The Boardshop Trade In Programme

The Boardshop surfboard Trade In programme is a service for our customers, to help them move on from their old boards seamlessly. We don’t aim to make a profit on the boards we take as trades in, the whole thing is set up to remove the hassle factor that many surfers experience when selling an old board.

We’ve all been there, the guy that says he’s 100% going to buy the board and then you never hear from him again, probably kidnapped by aliens I guess… Then there’s the guy who wants to come and look at the board at 5am on his way to work… guess what, another no-show!

No such hassles or issues at Boardshop. The process is tried and tested; we’ve done over 5000 trade-ins to date!

How do I trade in my surfboard at Boardshop?

If you’re looking to purchase a new surfboard and you have a pre-loved board in reasonable condition that you would like to trade in, we can offset it against the cost of that brand new board!

As far as we know, offering online surfboard trade-ins is a world first, and could not be easier:

1. Firstly email [email protected] with the subject header as Boardshop Trade-ins.
2. In the email, please attach details of the board(s) you'd like to trade in including details of any dings or repairs, pictures would be good.
3. We will email you back with an estimated trade in value.
4. You can then order the board you would like plus any accessories online in the usual way.
5. After you've received it, you then use the packaging to pack up the board coming back, PLEASE make sure the board is packed up well (Note how well the new board you have received from us is packed up).
6. Once we've received it, we'll refund you the agreed trade in price against the payment method used to buy your new board.

• Boards need to be cleaned of all wax and excess grime or a £30 cleaning charge will be levied.
• If we feel there are any discrepancies between the trade in value, and the board once we receive it, we will notify you straight away. This may affect the trade in estimate.
• Trade in estimates are valid for four weeks, if your board has not had a pick up collection booked within 4 weeks of the initial quote, your board will need to be reappraised.
• You can trade in up to 2 boards against a new board.
