Description

The all new CBC Mini Mal 7ft soft surfboard has been upgraded with a great new wood grain graphic and an EVA tail pad for improved grip.

The CBC 7ft Mini Mal surfboard is one of the best quality soft-deck surfboards available today. This incredibly versatile board would make the perfect first surfboard for teens or lighter adults looking for a well made, durable and stable platform to learn on. Unlike most soft deck boards, the 7ft mini Mal has a well designed shape which will continue to perform as the rider improves so you won't have to reach for your wallet as soon as you've mastered the basics.

Constructed with a Heat Laminated High Density 100% Waterproof EPS Core with 3 Multi-Layered (Moulded-In) Laminated Wood Stringers to keep the board stiff and resist warping. The board has a High Density Polyethylene Slick Bottom (like professional body boards) and High Density Durable IXPE/XPE Deck (like a pro body board) with a classic Wood Grain graphic.

California Board Company soft-top mini mals come complete with a safety Tri-fin set and a decent quality basic ankle leash. Although squarely aimed at the beginner market, the CBC 7ft Mini Mal would be a great choice for the intermediate adult looking for a bit of summer fun.

Great Company and board let down by the courier service
Ordered on Wednesday for delivery on Friday, finally got my board the following Thursday. Amazing service from the boardshop team who worked tirelessly to get my board to me on holiday after being let down by the courier company. From the reviews it looks like I’m not the only person to have a few delivery issues. Perhaps don’t rely on the delivery dates if you’re hoping for an overnight delivery.
Now for the board and package! the leash and fins are the standard ones that come prepackaged with the board so just the wax and bag that make up the package deal. The dims on the board differ to the web site. Board says 8ftx23inx3.75in, might be of interest if roof rack space is tight (I’ve not checked the actual dims with a tape)
I’m 5’11 and 85ish kgs. After a few afternoons on surf school foamies this board feels light and agile. The first day riding was great, the board was easy to paddle out and control. Easy to catch waves and stand. Stable when riding giving me the confidence to move about the board and turn along the wave.
After the first day I’ve noticed a few dips in the foam surface that seem to be from knee and feet imprints. Not sure if that’s to be expected or not.

Beginner Surfer, Fantastic service!
Im a complete beginner surfer so lets be honest the board probably doesn't make much difference to my performance right now. I've been using an old rental board for about a month which is heavy but stable so good fun. This new board is great I had my first run our on it on Saturday at East Wittering and had so much fun. What I really want to review here is the service I got from the guys at Boardshop from the moment I put a board in the shopping basket they were excellent. I called in for some advice and Ian was fantastic and talked me though my choice gave me options and even told me about other surf spots in the area where I live which I'll be checking out asap. I don't do reviews but when you get great service like this you have to spread the love. I will definitely be back for my next board..... when I can stand up a little while longer!

Good product, good help on the 'phone but poor delivery service
I paid extra for a delivery to North Devon for the Saturday over Easter. On the day we waited all day for the delivery but it finally arrived at 17.35 lat afternoon. No tracking or ability to contact Boardshop on the day. The delivery was for a special Birthday gift so it was vital we had it on that day, hence the panic.

I have spoken to Ian and he's given me his side of the problem they have conveying these large boards and the restrictions posed by what I would call 'normal' Carriers.

I have accepted that but, would reconsider should we have to purchase another one and have it shipped to North Devon.

Good people at Boardshop though. They know their products and are very helpful.
