Description

The GRIPD surfboard traction pack is a brilliant alternative to traditional surfboard wax. GRIPD is UK company, the grip has been developed in the UK and is made here too so the carbon footprint is massively reduced, no flying in from China with all that entails eco wise. Use it in conjunction with a tail pad for maximum effect. GRIPD surf grip allows you to surf without the need for wax, a clean, green alternative that is low maintenance and long-lasting. It’s a hexagonal surfboard grip for the environmentally conscious and who have had enough of melting wax going everywhere, or even worse forgetting your wax, funny how its always firing when that happens!

The 30 piece pack will be fine for boards up to 7' 0. It's a clear non-skid alternative to surf wax, easy to install and it requires next to no maintenance. It’s crystal-clear which means that your surfboard will always look like new, and it doesn’t melt, so your board will never get discoloured by wax and it keeps your surfboard bag, your car or your clothes wax free. The GRIPD pads are thinner than some others on the market so feels good to surf with. The grip itself is light and soft, its gives great traction every time. It doesn’t matter if the water is tropical or freezing cold it works just the same. If you’re lucky enough to be surfing in boardshorts then don’t worry its not going to tear your chest to pieces like some other deck grips used to, this stuff is soft enough to be comfortable even with no wetsuit or vest. Its easy to apply and remove if you don’t like the feel of it, if you do remove it it’ll lose its traction so you won’t be able to stick it onto another board.

This is such a good system, we've wave tested it here and it does everything you would want board grip to do. A truly viable alternative to wax that looks great and works! Allow a few sessions or 3-4hrs of use as it can take some people longer than others to adjust when using alternative traction for the first time.

Look great, almost invisible. Good friction from the outset, didn’t really find they needed bedding in as mentioned by some people. They feel much nicer than wax under your chest when paddling, no more gunk on your wetsuit. Nice not to worry about leaving the board in a hot car and wax melting. Used just over 1 pack on my 7’2 plus a tailpad. They cut easily to fill awkward gaps etc. No going back!

Good stuff
Great alternative to wax. It's hard to find many waxes that work well when the water gets below 10C and these save that frustrating feeling of loosing grip through a session or knowing you should have topped up before. Does seem to slip out a bit more from under your chest when paddling compared to a good wax job but the consistency and ease of use is worth it. As others have said it'd be good to have bigger packs available.

Great but…..
So if your like me and forever turning up to surf without your wax or just annoyed at how your wax job looks like then these are for you. Personally I really like the look of these and they perform well in comparison with wax. They take a few surfs to bed in but are a great alternative once they are. The downside is they only sell them in 30s which isn’t enough for even a short board unless your very good at landing your feet in the same place every time(which I’m not) so you can place them quite specifically. 2 packs becomes costly and is too many unless your riding a mal. I’d give them 5 stars for performance and looks but would be nice to see more buying options in the future. Great service from boardshop as always! Thanks guys

Tried out 1st time in 4 to 6 ft. Bundoran peak good grip no problems with duck diving. Needed most of 2 packs as board is 7 H I . As long as they last a year will be worth it .

They just work
As good as wax but because it’s as good it’s better, no need to rewax just grab your board and go and you know it’ll be sound! Buy more than is recommended, I didn’t realise it’s 30 and a tail pad for anything 6-7 foot, easily used two packs on my 6’’8

Good Grip underfoot
Happy with purchase. The product gives plenty of grip underfoot and it’s handy as I don’t need to re-wax the board. I did notice the board slipping on my chest when paddling through waves but you get used to it and it’s not too bad.
