The Hold Fast Hybrid foamie is designed to give you all the paddle power and stability you need to start your surfing adventure, but the pulled in 'Fish' style swallow tail makes it easier to get the board turning. This shape of board is really popular with kids who tend to progress more quickly than adults but also with people looking for a bit more than a basic ride. These Hold Fast soft deck surfboards have been designed and constructed to be safe and stable for the beginner to learn and progress on. Made with a closed cell foam deck which is comfortable and safe for the new surfer and other water users. The hull is constructed with a 'slick' bottom (like the underside of a bodyboard), this is pretty durable and designed for speedy wave sliding. All the Hold Fast boards come with a leash, and a soft, safety fin set which are easy to fit and are won't hurt too much should they hit you or other water users.

The key to a successful 'first surf' is having a stable and buoyant foam surfboard with a flat planning area and a slight 'kick' in the nose to prevent pearling (when the nose digs in).

Encouraging your kids or anyone else for that matter to surf is a very positive thing to do. Surfing is way more than a 'sport', it's a way of life that can influence someone's whole outlook on life. Surfers tend to be fitter and healthier and have a keen interest in travel, the outdoors and the environment. The Hold Fast range of soft surfboards are designed to last and not end up in landfill after a few weeks of fun in the summer so please look after your board. Avoid leaving in direct sunlight for too long and don't leave in a hot car for hours, it'll ruin the board.
