Epic alternative Board
Surfing in France , 42 years old and 86kg I bought the 6’9 love machine FM.
Ride it in Winter Swells 5/6ft and Board felt incredibly responsive and livelly like a Magic Carpet litterally flying over the sections with lot of speed and drive
The Board feels very light under your feet, like a shortboard and turns very well with increase speed delivered by this special shape
You dont feel the lenght of the board with the rails very well designed and the channel giving you extra speed
I felt the board is reliable even in Bigger staff with good hold in Punchy Waves
Thats not a longboard it needs some little push to handle but the feeling surfing this board is something I Never experiment before in my 10 years surf Background.
Definitly recommand , this machine will give you another level surfing expérience and smile

Good all-rounder, speed machine
I bought the 6’6 as I’m mostly used to short boards around 30-32litres and wanted something for the bigger days in Portugal, and just generally more volume for wave count. Was scared I wouldn't be able to duck dive it but it’s actually ok. The board is light and feels smaller than its 41 litres. I’ve surfed it now in quite heave Atlantic beach break and it handles well. Very easy to get into waves, down the line like a speed demon and stable on some choppy faces. The only thing I need to get used to is to move my feet around a bit as if you want to do sharper turns you need to move your back foot further back in order to pivot. So, some shuffling around required but when you get that dialled it’s a great board. Super happy and there are always folks who are curious about and want to talk about this board down the beach :)

If you've got a need for speed
I always love a fast board so super stoked with the love machine fm. I've tried a few mid-lengths recently and this is definitely my favourite. Especially for getting down the line on bigger waves. I like that I can throw it around too like my short boards. My only criticism is that it dings quite easily not the most robust construction. Thanks Ian for recommending, you've always got time for every customer, which is greatly appreciated.

Fantastic M
Great-looking board! I was initially concerned about the overseas delivery, but it ended up being fast, and the team was incredibly helpful in finding the best shipping option for me. They always responded promptly and were very supportive. The board was well-packed and looks fantastic, thanks to their advice. I'm looking forward to getting the fins and having fun in the water!

It’s not just about the products
So I bought a lost 7’6 crowd killer, surfed it and although a great board a bit too big for me. Boardshop were awesome and supported me with the ride out return policy.
So after lots of research and grinding of teeth I’ve gone for the FM, it looks awesome and is an in between ride for my quiver. Took it out in some small summer magic and it was awesome easy to catch and super responsive, a much better option for me than the lost. So I can’t thank ian and the team for their flexibility!

Awesome and then some!
I recently borrowed a mates 6'9 FM. For a bit of context I've been riding Simon Jones MOTE boars for the last 8 years, pre-Torren, and in the last 5 years have a 6'6 Fiji and 7'2 Massive. A while ago I was listening to a podcast with Torren and he mention that Si got the idea for the Massive from an American surfer who was cycling around Oz with a one board quiver. The guy was Simon Murdoch, who rides Ryan's boards and specifically the FM. So after having ridden the Fiji and Massive for the last 5 years I was looking for a replacement. I also drove over my Massive last year by accident (head in hands). I was just about to go out to Morocco for a solid west swell and have been missing my 7'2, so bought this a few days before and picked it up enroute. Needless to say I am so gald I did and I can hand on heart say that having surfed for 20+ years this board scored me some of the best waves I've had in my life. It's like the Massive but with way more beans and pazazz. I'm very keen for a 6'6 now. I also surf Porthleven and the beaches in Cornwall so know that this board is going to excel down here. Thanks heaps to the kind guys at Board Shop for making this all so smooth and especially the phone call follow up just to make sure all was well. I also got the Ryan Lovelace True Ames Twinzer fins for this, which are obviously are match made perfect!

Boom.
Having flapped about on a groveller and not really felt it, I got in touch with BoardShop about south coast waves and old man shoulders while looking to up the fun and carve. The FM was recommended and it is a really good board. Weirdly for my neck of the woods it has been overhead both times I've been out. The first in a howling onshore, the FM got me into a wave early and held the rail really well. The second time in clean conditions, the board was brilliant. Even had a Gerry Lopez moment (in my own mind anyway). Once I'd started trusting the board, late-ish drops were smooth, the board holds a really good line and carves are smooth. Paddling is a dream. The FM has stuck a smile on my face, a really good shout by the BoardShop crew. I'm super stoked about the next surf!
