Description

The all new Machado Seaside Quad fin set looks rad, surfs amazing and will make you surf better! The original Machado quad set released through FCS and Futures was a quad set with the same drivey, basey feelings of a keel fin set, designed specifically for the Seaside, but it would also work in any quad fin board you put it in. At the time it offered the best feel of a keel fin set up, this new version takes it to the next level. This new and updated version of the original quad set is designed to create more of a balanced an all-around performance characteristic across a variety of different surfboard shapes.

The front two fins are slightly more raked back than the original, and the two quad trailers are slightly more upright than the original. Machado did this to maintain the same carving characteristics of the original quad set, whilst adding in a new ability to pivot more tightly and immediately. The effective area on the front fins of the new Machado Seaside Quad set is moved towards the back of the fins with a little more rake in the profile in comparison to previous versions. The front fins have 2 degrees less cant than the previous sets, a slightly fuller foil and are a slightly stiffer feel than previous versions. The back fin on the new Machado Seaside Quad have more curve, fuller foil and are slightly stiffer than previous versions. Overall this gives the new and updated quad set a bigger and better sweet spot, enabling you, the surfer to position your back foot more freely on the tail, without sacrificing either a drawn out carving ability, or a quick and pivoting ability to slide the fins free when wanted.

This new iteration of the Machado quad is slightly stiffer than previous versions and about 15% lighter due to the bamboo construction, all round it feels great to surf.

These fins represent another step forward in fin design, coming out of the Endorfins factory you can be confident in the design and performance of this fin set whenever you need to reach for a quad fin set up.

Got these for my new FCS2 Seaside. My old Seaside had the original Machado Seaside quads which I've kept as spares.
These are gorgeous fins, in the Scarfini Twin Tab form which I think fits both FCS 1 & 2 boxes! Surprised to hear Firewire and FCS have parted ways but relieved that they're still catering to those of us with FCS/2 set ups elsewhere in quiver for whatever reason. These days I probs prefer Futures and will slowly move that way, but not ready yet as I have a grand's worth of FCS 2 fins to get through!
I prefer having to screw my fins in with no questions asked!
