Description

This Phipps One Bad Egg surfboard looks stunning, Mark's magic mid-length is a purists dream and simply oozes class. The beautiful clean lines of this performance egg make it an absolute must-have if you fancy taking on some big chunky waves or just fancy cruising some summer walls.

Yeah you could find a shorter, wider summer ride but you won't find a better paddling surfboard that'll thrive in double overhead waves and still be a dream to ride when it's waist high and a bit mushy.

This stunning surfboard comes with a 2+1 fin set up so you can experiment with a multitude of fin configurations. The One Bad Egg really paddles beautifully and delivers incredible drive especially with a good set of side fins and a smaller 6 or 7 inch fin in the box.

Really difficult to pigeonhole, the OBE will appeal to anyone from intermediate to advanced. Surfers keen to take on some sizeable surf will love the paddle speed, drive and security the surfboard offers, and the less adventurous will enjoy a drivey and fast turning mid-length that'll definitely improve your surfing, particularly your ability to turn a board and generate speed from the tail.

The Phipps One Bad Egg is a modern take on a classic shape and is undoubtedly the best performance egg on the market today. Technical director and Boardshop owner Roger has a 6'6 with a flat grey spray and it looks absolutely stunning!

Mark Phipps has been 'mowing foam' for nearly as long as he's been surfing. He started shaping and first picked up a planer under the wing and careful guidance of Wayne Lynch and Greg Brown in the famous Gash factory. Mark now divides his time between his home town of Point Lonsdale in Victoria, Australia and France. This allows him to make the very best of the surf in both locations, keep his finger on the "surf" pulse and keep in touch with the travelling pros who love his unique custom made mid length surfboards.

If we don't have the Phipps surfboard you're looking for, or the stock dims don't work for you, just give us a ring on (44) 01243 674250 or email [email protected] and we'll happily discuss a custom order for you.

The Boardshop team are absolutely stoked to be stocking Mark's amazing shapes and would happily consider taking your old or unwanted surfboard as a trade-in against a new Phipps surfboard.

Fantastic board, fantastic service,
(86kg intermediate, surfing 2-4 times per week typically).

I ordered the Mark Phipps OBE at 7’6. I was amazed at how well it paddled and moved on a wave. I surfed it with a single 7” fin.

After a few surfs I wanted the same board smaller - so I utilised the 30 day ride out guarantee. I also ordered FCS performer fins. I received the same board in 7’0 and again was amazed at the paddle speed.

The only difference is the 7’0 is much more fun on the wave. For that extra response on the wave there’s no sacrifice in paddle speed for me between the 7’6 and 7’0.

The customer service was spot on. Fast responses to emails. Emails all relevant and full of first hand knowledge.

I’ll be back !

Awesome Board, fast paddler, excellent glide
Got the board and went on Eastern surfing vacation instantly off to the Basque Country. Have not been surfing it in anything higher than 4ft mostly clean waves but for now I can say that I have never paddled a faster board ( already tried, Dominator, and Lost puddle jumper ). I reckon as the waves get bigger you'd need to paddle out pretty fast when there's a set pause or use a channel to get out.
Apart from that, I have surfed it single fin and side fins and it has been a blast either way. So easy to take off and keep going.
I am landlocked in Germany, surfing for approx 16 weeks per year and intermediate. 85Kgs and above average fitness level surfing it at 7.2.
