Description

The Yoyo is a summer hybrid derived from its high-performance counterpart, the Yo. Mark modified the Yo by widening the tail and incorporating a subtle tail lift. It features low bevelled rails for enhanced wave engagement and ample volume in the nose using the beak technique. With a slight single to double concave and rounded tail, this board offers versatility and comes with a 5-fin setup. Use the thruster setup for turns and quads for speed and control.

It just seems to go good in everything!
I took this board to the Mentawis where I met up with my child hood best mate and we pondered life and our futures in front of Lances Rights for ten days, ( I’m not really sure what we pondered, if I remember correctly, we surfed ,drank beer and slept like logs)
Anyway I had 3 boards , 6 1 devil ( Bradley ) 6 2 Player ( Bradley ) and a 6 4 Phipps Yo which I had imagined was my step-up.
It’s actually a hard wave to paddle into, so I started surfing the Yo from the go as there was swell. As it turned out it went the best of all three boards even when it was under 3 ft and onshore ( which is was for nearly 5 days unfortunately ) as its quite flat through the front end and had the wide point v’eed forwards it is just so easy to surf and get speed on. As the tail is a nice pin it turns really good with speed . it just seems to go good in everything unless it’s really bad or no walls.
I ended up surfing the Yo more than any other board I'd had in ten years, as it just kept deliverg fun, and i could surf it with my eyes closed.
