Description

The Torq Mini Long 8ft surfboard in this cracking new design for this season.

A package is the most cost effective way to buy your perfect surfboard setup. It consists of the board, fins, a 5mm padded surfboard bag, a great quality leash of suitable size and with double corrosion proof swivels and a bar of wax.

The Mini Long would make the perfect first 'proper' surfboard after mastering the basics on a foamy or a moulded board in the surf-school. Far from being purely a learners board, the Mini Long is the ideal craft to fine tune your surfing and a good option for the longboarder looking for a more manoeuvrable craft. This tried and tested mini mal shape has been fine tuned over the years by board shapers who surf, so competent surfers can still have a blast in smaller weaker conditions. The full nose allows the board to plane and catch waves early and the soft, forgiving rails up front and sharp at the back are forgiving but with enough bite to hold in steeper waves.

Torq Surfboards are constructed using the most up-to-date Epoxy Technology, using the latest EPS Epoxy Materials. The lightweight EPS Core is combined with Biaxial fibreglass cloth, Epoxy resin and Torq's unique Shield Skin.

This unique combination of advanced materials and high-tech construction produces a board that performs at the very highest level, offering lightweight shapes with a responsive flex (missing on some cheaper Epoxy boards) but also makes for a really durable and strong surfboard. 9ft Torq longboard
I have surfed longboards for 20 years and my old custum made board was showing some wear and tear and needed replacing. I chose a Torq 9ft because all the dimensions matched what I needed, plus I wanted an epoxy made board for the lightness epoxy gives. This is the best board I have ridden. It catches waves easy, turns and nose rides so well. I use a single fin set up and I replaced the cheaper single fin supplied with a better larger fin which gives me a bit more stability in the tail. Didn't mind the added expense as the Torq 9ft is so relatively cheap anyway.

I exchanged a number of e-mails with the team at the Boardshop to help me to identify the best board for me to buy - the basis of which was ; – I’m 105kg , love surfing but am new to it, and sometimes struggle to catch the waves that those around me are riding with apparent ease. Ian suggested the Torq 9ft longboard - which made sense to me – I brought the board, headed off to Devon and paddled out through the surf …. The first wave came along - I paddled with my fingers crossed – and got straight up and on it – and enjoyed the best wave in my fairly limited surfing career. The next 7 days on the Torq were brilliant – pretty much up and on every wave – nicely balanced and confident to manoeuvre.
