Description

The brand new colab between Torq and Rusty in the excellent EPS epoxy TEC construction has landed. The first model in this colab is the Torq X Rusty Egg Not surfboard. The Egg Not is a squash tail version of Rusty's Egg mid-length board which has been super popular. With the increasing popularity of mid-lengths, Rusty decided it was a good idea to offer a squash tail mid-length board.

The Tec epoxy construction used by Torq in this model is as good as any other epoxy build out there, the finish and quality is unrivalled. We see a lot of surfboads and the build on this has blown us away, especially at this price point. Epoxy means faster surfing, a more responsive ride and life long retention of that performance, this particular epoxy is tough too compared to standard PU boards. Glassing is 4/4oz & 4oz under 6' 0 and 6/4oz & 4oz on any board over 6' 0.

The Squash tail adds a little more area, lengthens the rail line, and has a more pivoty feel compared to a roundtail. The Egg Not is a great board to have in your quiver. When the surf is average, you’ll have plenty of wave catching ability and it will carry through sections but the board will still be loose enough to turn with ease. As a plus, when the surf gets a bit bigger, it still works surprisingly well too. The Egg Not features a relaxed rocker on the front end of the board which helps with paddle speed, wave catching, and overall glide. The curve is a bit above average which translates to helping tighten the arc of your turns without giving up speed. The thickness of the board is a little thinner than you might expect for a board this size but that's what keeps it lively and responsive. The rails are more thinned out, this makes the board easier to turn and also helps it hold better in bigger surf. Fin setup here is your call. For a higher performance feel go for a 4-fin setup. If you’re looking for something a little cruisier or more traditional feel do a 2 + 1 one setup.

As a premier Torq and Rusty stockist, we pride ourselves on giving what we think is good solid advice without any of the over-eager sales driven BS often encountered by our customers elsewhere.

We're happy to consider taking your old or unwanted board as a trade in against a surfboard, so If you have any questions about this we'd be delighted to answer them and advise on any potential board choices or enquiries you might have, just drop us an email to [email protected] or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250

Fantastic Board and Service!
The board is amazing, paddles really well and is great in big and small conditions! It works really well for me coming up from a foamie, but my mates with more experience found it amazing to ride too!
The service at Boardshop was also brilliant, it was really helpful to talk to someone about what I needed, and nice to be able to come down and look at the board and talk through it before buying!
