Description

The Walden Magic Model surfboard is a worldwide best seller for good reason.

Steve Walden has perfected the Magic Model over the years with focus on 3 key elements; the Magic Hull, Magic Rails and Magic Rocker. The uniquely patented hull features a large single concave which runs half the length of the board, this then transitions into a double concave through the rear third and then into a moderate vee out the tail. This performance hull delivers lift and stability from the concave in the nose and the double concave and vee make the board fast, stable and eminently manoeuvrable in all conditions.

The Magic Model's rails are pretty hard, harder than most longboards however the patented hull, bottom curve and bevels stop the rails from catching.

The Magic Model has a fairly significant performance rocker which loosens the tail up allowing the board to pivot easier and also delivers improved stability when hanging your toes over the nose.

The Walden Magic Model is a proven all-rounder, a high-performance longboard which rides just as well in knee high 'wonder walls' as it does in serious overhead waves. This versatility makes the Magic Model a great option for any rider, whether you're new to surfing or a seasoned longboarder looking for a 'go-to' everyday surfboard you never leave home without.

Tuflite C-Tech Construction is a durable construction process which begins with a purpose moulded fused-cell EPS foam blank which is the exact size required for the particular board creating zero waste! The board is then laminated with a blend of fibreglass and epoxy with reinforced rails creating a lightweight and durable surfboard with lifelong flex and that 'new board' feel for its extended lifespan.

Walden 8 6

I bought this board after mainly riding a 6 '6 or 7'0, but always enjoyed the flow and stability of the longer board. I'm 70 kg and 5'7 so I didn't want to go too long, and I'm glad I didn't. The board is able to pick up many waves as you'd expect from a board this size, but also manoeuvres like a shorter board and turns with ease. The lightness helps with this, which I guess is down to the construction- light but solid! I tried this board in 3-4 foot on the east coast with a lot of bump on the waves, and it dealt with it nicely and was able to get out the back with ease. Would highly recommend. Love Waldens!

Walden Magic Model 9ft

I gave my old Walden Magic 9ft board to my son and really missed it! I saw that the Boardshop stocked Walden surfboards - not quite the one I was after, but I contacted them anyway on the off chance ... They didn't have quite what I was after but one of their suppliers did ! I am now the very happy owner of my 2nd Walden Magic 9ft board - took it out for the first time this weekend and although slightly lighter that the old one just love it! Had a great session and looking forward to the rest of the summer, autumn, winter with my new/old friend. Moral - if you give a board away and regret it, contact the Boardshop. Thank you Boardshop, great service, very happy customer!
