Description

The Walden Mega Magic surfboard packs plenty of volume and width into its length making it an absolute blast to surf.

The Mega Magic is an all-time best seller and is the Walden model with the most condensed volume which allows the rider to drop in length without sacrificing the legendary 'Magic' model performance and float.

Whist the volume distribution is different the Mega Magic still boasts the same magic ingredients of the original Magic model; Walden's patented concave bottom, hard rails for manoeuvrability and performance and plenty of rocker to aid turning ability and comfort in more significant waves.

The Magic has always appealed to the larger rider and we're pleased to say the Mega Magic will offer the bigger guys and girls the opportunity to ride a board a foot or so shorter while still maintaining that all important buoyancy of the original Magic.

Surftech's Fusion HD construction delivers the perfect balance of durability and lightweight performance. Whilst not bulletproof, Fusion HD offers a significant increase in durability over a regular PU board with a much improved resistance to deck compressions which can blight the look of a fibreglass board. Fusion HD uses a Fused Cell EPS Core (Dual Core) with Clear HD-Epoxy Resin and High Quality E-Glass Fibreglass. There is a full Biax Deck Patch, a UD Carbon Stringer and a single fin box with FCS II side bites. This technology results in a lively and 'springy' feel which powers the board out of turns and maintains a 'new board' feel for the surfboards lifespan (usually significantly longer than a PU board!).

In 1961 Steve Walden shaped his first surfboard at the tender age of 13 and some 8 years later opened his own factory in Huntington Beach California. Steve then relocated to the North Shore of Oahu where he rapidly built a reputation as the shaper of quality Longboards. Still shaping today, Steve reckons he's shaped somewhere north of 20,000 boards and if he's not mowing foam you'll find him surfing his favourite Oahu breaks.

The Boardshop team are stoked to be stocking Steve Walden's legendary surfboards after our cusomers kept asking if we could get them. We're happy to consider trading in your old board against a new Walden surfboard, so If you have any questions about this we'd be delighted to answer them and advise on any potential board choices or enquiries you might have, just drop us an email to info@boardshop.co.uk or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250.

Puts a smile on my face every time
So much fun. This board has put the fun back into surfing for me since I've put on some extra weight. Love it and the fusion construction is amazing, so light but feels like a PU ride.

I bought the Walden a few weeks ago being so keen to o take it out straight away I tried surfing some on -shore rubbish near where I live in Cornwall & ended up thinking “oh my god what have I done” I couldn’t catch anything other than a cold, but then came along a few 3/4ft offshore days & it was enough to convince me this was the best board I have owned to date... being so light it’s a pleasure to carry (if only I had arms like an orangutan “

Truly amazing!
Thought this board might be limited to just trimming down the line surfing....so glad I was wrong as it’s really lively turns with precision and takes anything from 6” to 6’ with ease.
Whilst the construction is epoxy I’ve found it to be as delicate as a PU board.

Fantastic board. Catches anything and performs like a dream! Wish I had longer arms though! Customer service was second to none! Can not fault a thing!!

Great board
Turns really well and the extra buoyancy helps Allot when walking up and down the board definitely need long arms to get it down the beach though

Mega Magic is Mega Magic
9'0 Mega Magic: So pleased with this board, the vol. is slightly less than Indicated on website..and as an over 55's big guy - every little helps right!. However it's so easy to catch waves & get up, quite responsive & lively, easy to turn and can say this board has definitely brought the fun back to surfing. Not an easy paddle but when you're catching many more waves who cares. At 4" wide - longer arms would help hoofing it back up the beach but when you're stoked after such a great ride..it makes it much easier to carry ..
Really Love it...brilliant board & great fun.

Walden Mega Magic
Bought for smaller days and mushy waves. Bought the 8' version which gives plenty of volume to catch smaller waves. It is quite responsive and turns well, i have only tried it with a single 9" flex fin which seems to suit it well. Plan to try a smaller fin with side bites. Surprisingly it doesn't feel corky as some higher volume boards can. Currently only been used in waves up to about 2'.
