An out and out, a wave catching giant! The Walden Mega Magic Soft Top Surfboard is THE longboard to make the most of even the weakest and smallest of waves. Walden have taken volume from the length and redistributed it to the width and thickness while maintaining the performance with hard rails, concave bottom a lots of rocker, this is a board that will catch every ripple but still feel responsive enough to move around.

If you are a bigger surfer who is resigned to surf something huge the this board gives the option to come shorter without reducing wave count. These boards are super popular with a wide range of surfers because they give you the option to come down in length and retain a level of performance that you miss once you get on to a bigger board.

This Soft Top version of Walden’s favourite board is constructed with a thermal-formed EVA deck which offers great traction and is kinder on your knees and ribs when paddling. This construction is a great option for the beginner or improving surfer who wants to progress but is not quite ready for a hard deck board. Performance is not affected by the soft deck and the board surfs just as well as the Tuflite version. The Soft Top Custom Performance boards are number 1 for surf-school and rentals and have been a consumer favourite for more than 20 years. Essentially what you're getting is a high-end epoxy surfboard topped with the durable EVA deck which will also extend the lifespan of the board protecting it from dings to the nose, tail and rails.

In 1961 Steve Walden shaped his first surfboard at the tender age of 13 and some 8 years later opened his own factory in Huntington Beach California. Steve then relocated to the North Shore of Oahu where he rapidly built a reputation as the shaper of quality Longboards. Still shaping today, Steve reckons he's shaped somewhere north of 20,000 boards and if he's not mowing foam you'll find him surfing his favourite Oahu breaks.
